This November Wave-length will be taking part in the Inspire Social Enterprise Conference at the Craven Arms in Telford for all of those interested and involved in social business in and around Shropshire.
Ann Johnson, director of Wave-length, will be running a workshop focusing on ways into public sector opportunities. As part of this she will be discussing how to get a look into public sector contracts and what you can do to improve your chances of success.
“It can seem such a lot of effort to tender for a contract especially when you feel the chances of success might be small and I have been there, investing a weekend to complete the paperwork and then wondering why I did when we did not get it, but running Wave-length and Chairing COGS, a public and private procurement group, we have begun to learn different approaches, things to consider and other ways to win a contract that might circuit a little the traditional routes. It is great to be given the opportunity to share them with you at the Inspire Conference.” Ann Johnson, Director of Wave-length.
Wave-length will also have a stand where we will be welcoming people to come and learn more about the services we offer, how we help the local community and how we may be able to help you or someone you know.
The talks on the day will cover the important aspects of setting up and being part of a social business and will allow you to hear about the highs and lows of setting up a social business/enterprise from people who have had first-hand experience. Including Stuart Bell – Entrepreneur of the year Regional Finalist, who will be sharing his personal motivation and what it was that made him stand out from the rest.
Coming along to this event will also give you the chance to hear three inspirational speakers who will headline the conference with a strong focus on overcoming challenges and growing your enterprise. As well as this you will have the chance to learn from others in workshops that will give ideas and answer any questions you have around social business, such as where to get financial help or specialist help to grow your enterprise.
With plenty of opportunity to engage in workshops, network with like-minded businesses and share and explore solutions to the barriers you face, you won’t be disappointed in this quality event.
