South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has collected real time feedback from patients and service users for many years via a similar system, but the new survey will offer the opportunity to collect feedback on additional, more specific questions and provide improved reporting and trend analysis information. Service users are encouraged to provide feedback on issues such as food and activities provided to inpatients; information about care, treatment and medication provided and generally how pleased they are with their care. For those who do not wish to use a web based survey, a paper copy is available and, where requested, help with completion. Liz Lockett, Associate Director of Quality and Risk said, “We take the opinions of our service users and their carers very seriously and are always keen to encourage feedback on any aspects of our services. We do this in a variety of ways, including face to face meetings and visits, but this survey is also an important tool and I am delighted we will now have a more flexible and responsive version which will help to provide the information we need to ensure the services we provide are meeting the needs of those who use them.”
